A Lot of Fish

Dom, the very kind and friendly owner, is often busy working around his quite eclectic little shop. Most people are vying for his attention and he does spend a good deal of time with everyone. He doesn't have any help (aka:novice kids who do nothing but get in the way and hurt your choice fish while trying to bag it) so sometimes you must be a little patient. Once he gets to you however, you get some of the best advice, selection and help you can get anywhere on long island. All his fish are high quality, hand selected, healthy choices. They are magnificently kept and extremely diverse. From reef to plants to exotic fish, he has it all. I personally won't go anywhere else for keeping my tank health and beautiful.

When I first got started, Dom wouldn't let me buy a fish till my tank was perfectly adapted and running great. Most stores push you to buy fish, and if they die, buy more. A Lot of Fish instead pushes you to make sure you do things right. My own tank is an example the only fish to have died since I started heeding his advice was because I forgot to close my cover and it jumped out in the night. Otherwise, happy, healthy and beautiful.

I never write reviews, but for this store, I did. A Lot of Fish is worth the time to visit and to write a review about.

I WENT THERE TODAY TO SEEIT FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE FELLA AT THE COUNTER WAS RUDE, SNOTTY AND GAVE AN ATTITUDE LIKE IT WAS A HASSLE TO HAVE ME IN HIS STORE.THEN I SAW TWO STARVING BIRDS WITH DIRTY, FILTHY CAGES AND ABOSLUTELY NO FOOD OR WATER AND HE SAID HE WAS LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME FOR THEM, WHAT A PLACE IT REMINDS ME OF BJ'S BEFORE THE "ACIDENTAL" FIRE

I have to say, I have been an Aquarium hobbyist for 25+ years and Dominick the owner is the top in the field. I have purchased many fish and supplies all over the Island and I have to admit He has never steered me wrong. All of the live stock is top notch and he will answer all questions without cutting you short like so many other store personnel. He doesn't treat you like you do not matter. Other stores may look nice inside and have the shoppers appeal, but they could care less if you purchase from them. Your sale is important to him. I just want to say thanks to him by posting this little note. If he doesn't have what you want he will get it for you. I suggest you call the store before you go since his hours are not very consistant because he picks up his own deliveries from the airport and inspects the fish on site for condition.
